Jocelyn McKinney

President

Born and raised in Las Vegas, NV, Jocelyn is a 2002 graduate of UNLV with degree in Communications Studies.  She is currently the Director of Catering at the Palms Hotel and Casino and has worked in the Food and Beverage field in various executive positions since 2008.  In addition to traveling, organizing and reading, Jocelyn loves cooking and spending time with her wonderful husband, Derrod

Jill Morrison

Treasurer

Jill was not born in LV but considers herself a native. Raised in Las Vegas, she always knew she was destined for a life helping others which led her to a career in Law Enforcement. In 2019, after 25 years of service, she retired as a police Lieutenant from the city of North Las Vegas where she took great pride in serving the community.  Having spent years working in the Detective Bureau, Jill has a particular soft spot for families that might need a little extra help.  She brings to Baby's Bounty organization of large scale operations, multi-agency communications, grant management and the gift of service.  With lots of free time on her hands she loves to fill her days with golf, tennis, cycling, running and traveling with her husband, all of which have become her new full time job.

LaShunda
Davis-Holbert

As the daughter of a retired Air Force Major, born in Japan, LaShunda Davis-Holbert has experienced global culture from a very early age. After graduating from UNLV with a B.A. in Communications, she made her move to NYC working in fashion and eventually owning a spa, ‘Cure beauty bar. Her then partner, Damien (now husband), developed and successfully opened a communal, retail and creative space for entrepreneurs. Grady’s Collective Market: featuring fashion, food, beauty, art and vintage finds. After five years in business, the Holbert’s decided to move back to Las Vegas with their daughter, Brooklyn, to be closer to family.  LaShunda is excited to use her experience in aesthetics and marketing to propel Baby’s Bounty into the new decade!

Kristina Escamilla
Gilmore

Kristina has lived in the Las Vegas community for over 20 years.  She earned her undergraduate degree from Claremont McKenna College and received her Juris Doctorate from William S. Boyd School of Law.  After law school, she completed a federal clerkship, and then went on to focus her legal practice in the area of labor and employment law.  She has a very supportive husband who is also an attorney, and two adorable children who keep her on her toes!  In addition to focusing on her family and work, Ms. Gilmore has a passion for giving back to the community that has been so good to her over these years.  She believes in being kind and compassionate to those around her, with the hope that others will pay it forward. Ms. Gilmore is honored to be a part of Baby’s Bounty and looks forward to supporting its mission of empowering at-risk families so that each family can focus on ensuring their baby is loved, nurtured and healthy.

Dr. Amber
Lopez Lasater

Dr. Amber Lopez Lasater brings a wealth of experience in empowering communities and has made a strong contribution to advancing education in both the post-secondary and K-12 space. Currently as Chief of Staff and Strategy at Nevada State University, Amber has over two decades of experience in public affairs, strategic communication and governance. She has made a significant impact in the development and passage of policy and has successfully lobbied for critical funding. 

Amber's commitment to serving diverse student populations and fostering partnerships to overcome barriers aligns beautifully with Baby's Bounty's mission. Her previous roles, including Director of Politics and Strategic Communication for CCEA and Chief of Staff for SEIU Nevada, demonstrate her leadership in advancing critical initiatives, notably attaining an additional $45 million annually for UMC Hospital. Holding a Master's in Community and Regional Planning, a Bachelor’s of Communications, and a Doctorate in Public Policy, Amber has developed a national model for workforce advancement in response to technology disruption. Her ongoing efforts to address Nevada's challenges make her a valuable asset to the Baby's Bounty board.

Lauren Harwell
 

Secretary

Lauren Harwell is an accomplished professional that brings a wealth of expertise and experience from the meeting and events industry. She is currently the Vice President of Accounts for Imprint Events Group and holds over a decade of experience in the hospitality sector. 

 

Lauren has a deep passion for community volunteerism, rooted from her first job working for the American Liver Foundation in Colorado. She found success in the curation and development of multiple signature events that assisted families and truly helped the community. It’s this job where she grew to love the hospitality and event planning industry. She has continued to hold leadership positions amongst not only the Las Vegas but the hospitality community. Spending the past few years focusing on the growth of Imprint Events Group, Lauren looks forward to bringing her expertise, passion, and vision to Baby’s Bounty. 

 

Lauren’s favorite quote is by Maya Angelou “I’ve learned that people will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel.”

Lisa Jolly

Lisa Jolly currently serves as the Chief Operating Officer for UnitedHealthcare Health Plan of Nevada Medicaid with more than two decades of healthcare industry experience in Nevada. 

 

Lisa is dedicated to ensuring access to essential health care and other basic necessities for all members of her community. She has a passion for developing innovative solutions to social barriers impacting the most vulnerable members of the community. Her commitment to making a positive impact has been a driving force throughout her career.

 

After receiving an undergraduate degree from the University of California Irvine, where she studied the social impacts of law on society, she received a Juris Doctorate from the William S. Boyd School of Law, where she was a member of the very first graduating class.

 

Lisa is the proud mother to three amazing teenagers and enjoys spending time with her wonderful husband, Victor.

Board Emeritus and Founder

After launching Baby’s Bounty in July 2008, Kim spent over 10 years as Executive Director and today acts as an adviser and Board Emeritus. With nearly 30 years of experience in both the private and non-profit sector, she continues to advocate for the health, safety, and well-being of young children.  Las Vegas has been her home since 1994 where she and her husband, Guy, raised their two children, Gabrielle and Victor.

Dr. Samantha Berkule Johnson, PhD

Special Advisor

Samantha is a former tenured professor and holds a doctorate in developmental psychology, bringing research and clinical expertise in parent-child attachment, parental depression, parent-child interactions, and early language and reading development. She is also a wife, a mother, an avid snowglobe collector, and a pilot. Upon moving from New York to Las Vegas, Samantha was eager to connect with organizations which support providing families with access to everything they need to ensure happy, health lives for their children.

Lieutenant Governor
Lisa Cano Burkhead

Senior Advisor

Born and raised in Las Vegas, Lisa Cano Burkhead is a first generation American Latina who has spent her life educating kids, first as a Spanish and English teacher, then as the Dean of Students and Assistant Principal at Eldorado High School, as well as Principal at Fertitta Middle School and Foothill High School. As the 36th Lieutenant Governor, Lisa served as a public advocate for education. She and her husband, Jeffrey, live in Las Vegas and she serves her most important role as mother to three daughters, Taylor, Raquel, and Sofia.

KELLY MAXWELL

Chief Executive Officer and
Executive Director

Las Vegas native, Kelly Maxwell brings business acumen and a local’s knowledge of her community to her role with the 15-year-old nonprofit. Using her experience in for-profit-sector business development, Maxwell has transformed Baby’s Bounty into a community leader amid an unprecedented economic crisis. 

 

Concurrent with a career in executive leadership in both hospitality and technology, Maxwell joined Baby’s Bounty as a board member in 2014 before moving into the CEO/Executive Director role in 2020.Taking the helm very early in the COVID-19 pandemic, Maxwell expanded the organization’s programming with the creation of the first consistent diaper bank resource in the state of Nevada. She then expanded the diaper bank beyond Las Vegas into Henderson, North Las Vegas, Northern Nevada and added mobile diaper banks in both Northern and Southern Nevada to address diaper need in rural, underserved communities.  Since their inception, the Baby’s Bounty diaper banks have distributed nearly four million diapers to over 40,000 families, resulting in a more than 1,300% increase in the organizational budget and a 5,200% increase in the number of clients served annually.

 

Continually seeking ways to remove barriers for parents struggling in poverty, Maxwell launched Diapers for Diplomas, an innovative partnership with Nevada’s NSHE institutions to provide diapers for parenting students enrolled in the participating colleges and universities. She worked to successfully pass SB428 with Senator Edgar Flores to remove the sales tax on diapers and entered into a partnership with the Secretary of State, State Treasurer and DHHS to support the State’s Infant to Work program. Maxwell is working with Congressman Steven Horsford for a Childcare Solutions Summit to address the childcare crisis in Nevada. Through these, and other projects in the works, Maxwell aims to continue expanding services for Nevada’s tiniest residents. 

 

Maxwell has been recognized for her work addressing diaper need by the National Diaper Bank Network, the State of Nevada, Congresswoman Susie Lee and Senator Jacky Rosen. She is a Jameson Fellow, a Court of Master Sommeliers certified sommelier, a graduate of the Leadership Las Vegas 2022 cohort, a guest lecturer at UNLV’s Lee Business School and Honor's College as well as Nevada State University and serves as the Governor appointed Chair of the Statewide Diapering Resource Committee. A lifelong learner, Maxwell attended Earl Warren College at the University of California, San Diego and is currently pursuing an advanced degree at DePaul University.

Christy Devine

Director
Northern Nevada and Diapers for Diplomas

In addition to being a self-professed book worm and music lover, Christy dedicates her time to her children, Eli and Lucy. She has experience in advocating for a variety of philanthropic endeavors and has a passion for causes related to education, children and families. Hailing from Mississippi, she brings Southern charm, a down-home sensibility and practicality to the mission of Baby’s Bounty.

Stephanie Salas

Stephanie is a California native who has lived in Las Vegas since 1994. She brings 20 years of hospitality experience to Baby's Bounty with the goal of making each client and baby feel welcomed and cared for. In her free time, Stephanie enjoys spending time with her extended family.

Maleia Tremblay

Diaper Bank Program Manager

Maleia holds a bachelor's degree in psychology from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. As a proud older sister, she has always had an affinity for children. From babysitting to working with kids in the foster care system, Maleia has a strong passion for providing a safe and nurturing environment for children to grow. Maleia enjoys spending time with her family, traveling, playing the piano and practicing Muay Thai.

Freida Perez

Program Coordinator

Freida is originally from Zacatecas, Mexico where she lived most of her life. Freida came to Baby's Bounty first as a client relations/education intern from Nevada State University where she recently graduated with a degree in psychology. She enjoys learning about the human mind and is interested in mental health awareness. Her favorite things to do are traveling and going on road trips. She is very excited to be working to improve the lives of Nevada's families.

Myles Pollard-Jones

Warehouse Assistant

Myles was originally born in Chicago, IL, but has lived in several cities before landing in Las Vegas in 2021. Myles is a dynamic young man with a passion for sports and current events. As a dedicated athlete, he excels in basketball and track, showcasing his physical prowess and his commitment to discipline, teamwork, and perseverance. Myles is excited to work with Baby's Bounty, where he is able to channel his enthusiasm for positively impacting his community.

Josie Garcia

Administrative Assistant

Josephine was born in Lake Tahoe, California but has lived in Las Vegas for most of her life. From working in the hospitality industry to healthcare, she has worn many hats throughout her 18 years in the workforce. She received a degree in Accounting from the College of Southern Nevada and has recently become a new mother to a beautiful baby girl. Josephine loves spending time with her family and enjoys basking in the great outdoors every chance she gets. Josephine loves assisting local families and helping to fulfill Baby's Bounty's mission.
