My sweetest memories are of the days we brought our babies home from the hospital wrapped in a bunting made by my mother, buckled safely into a car seat given to me by coworkers and later tucked in for a nap in a cozy crib. But sadly, there are many parents in our community who do not have the means to provide the most essential items for their new babies. That is why I started Baby’s Bounty™ in the summer of 2008. Too many infants were leaving the hospital wrapped in a father’s shirt and put to sleep in bed with young siblings or in a drawer on the floor.
Every new baby deserves to be safe, warm and nourished. Baby’s Bounty™ distributes diaper bags filled with clothes, bottles, blankets, diapers and toiletries to more than 50 babies in need per month, and provides dozens of car seats, Pack ‘n Plays, bathtubs and other essential items to ensure that they thrive. In July 2011 we celebrated our 3rd anniversary and assisted over 1,200 babies to date.
Through collaboration with 60 social service agencies, we look forward to assisting more babies in need as they are identified through the referral process. Additionally, we hope to relieve some of the stress and despair the parents are experiencing and enable them to take better care of their new babies.
Please join us in our efforts to improve the lives of these babies in need. Think of Baby’s Bounty™ when your own babies outgrow their infant clothing and no longer need their baby gear. We’ll be sure to pass it along to babies in our community that need it the most. Together we can make a difference.
